| At this
time, Doug is 15 years 6 mo. Doctors in the beginning told me he would never
walk or talk or have any self-help skills. I am happy to say that my son
is walking, talking and uses the toilet and plenty of self-help skills.
Doug is developementally delayed but making progress everyday. Inspite of
the Diabetes Insipidis I was able to get him toilet trained by age 6. He
wasn't put on the DDAVP until he was 8 years.
Doug was diagnosed with ONH at about 1 year old. Didn't see his endo until about age 4. He was put on synthroid and growth hormone and about a year later he was put on the Cortef. Before the cortef he was very lathargic. What a difference. At 8 years he was put on the DDAVP. It was a long hall but he is one of the joys of my life. He has a brother that is 1 1/2 years younger and a 6 year old sister.
On halloween with his brother and sister. Doug is the skeleton..........lol. I think Doug is 12, Danny 11, Sierra about 3. |
