Christopher
A. Walsh, MD, PhD
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Harvard Institutes of Medicine
Boston, Massachusetts
Dr. Walsh's
laboratory is involved in searching for genes responsible for septo-optic
dysplasia combined with a brain malformation called schizencephaly.
Finding such a gene or genes will help us to learn more about the
process of brain development as well as identifying a specific cause
of this condition.
To participate
in our research, we would request medical records and a blood sample
from the family member(s) with SOD/schizencephaly in addition to
a blood sample from each parent.
If you are interested
in learning more about our research, please contact Brenda Barry
(617-667-8035) and Jennifer Partlow (617-667-8044) or email them
at walshlab@bidmc.harvard.edu.
